Director of Audiology

Merle received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been a practicing Audiologist since 1987. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 1995, Merle worked at Consultants in Neurology, specializing in neurodiagnostics, vestibular testing and balance disorders. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Merle is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Clinical Audiologist

Sue received her Master of Science degree in Audiology from the Central Institute for the Deaf at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where she was the recipient of the Goldstein Award for Academic Achievement and Professional Promise. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Sue has been practicing audiology since 1983 and worked at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary before joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 1986. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and a licensed Audiologist in the state of Illinois.

Sheri T. Yamashita, Au.D., FAAA, CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Sheri received her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. She received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Sheri worked at Christie Clinic-Champaign, Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Mercy Hospital and with Advocate Medical Group before joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2001. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Sheri is also certified in Audiology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a licensed Audiologist in the state of Illinois.

Julie received her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. She received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2007, Julie worked at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and with a neurology practice. Julie holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Mary Ann received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from Northern Illinois University. She has been practicing audiology since 1985 and worked at The University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, the Chicago Hearing Society, Westlake Community Hospital and for Beltone Hearing and Audiology Centers before joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2008. Mary Ann is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and is certified in Audiology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also a licensed Audiologist in the state of Illinois.

Debbie received her Master of Arts degree in Audiology from the University of Denver and her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Speech Pathology from the Newcomb College of Tulane University. She has been practicing Audiology since 1984 after completing her clinical fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Debbie has worked in a variety of settings including Cook County Hospital, Northern Illinois University, Northside Audiology Group, Christ Hospital and Medical Center, and an otolaryngology practice before joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2009. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Susan received her Doctorate in Audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology. She received her Master of Science degree in Audiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Towson State University, graduating cum laude. Susan has been practicing Audiology since 1990, after completing a post-Master’s fellowship at the University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center. She worked at a large audiology practice in Northern Virginia and for an otolaryngology practice in Michigan before joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2009. Susan is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) and is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a licensed Audiologist in the state of Illinois.

Jean Carone, M.A., FAAA, CCC-A

Clinical Audiologist

Jean received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Northern Illinois University. She has been practicing audiology since 1980. Jean was the head of audiology at Oak Forest Hospital, worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health, was a contractual audiologist for various ENT groups in the Chicago suburbs, and owned her own private practice before joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2011. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and a certified member of the American Board of Audiology (ABA). Jean is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Lindsey received both her Doctorate in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Illinois State University. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2011, Lindsey worked at Chicago Otolaryngology Associates at Mercy Hospital, Resurrection Medical Center and the Ear, Nose & Throat Center at Lutheran General Hospital. Lindsey is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Andrea received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been a practicing Audiologist since 1983. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2013, Andrea worked at Consultants in Neurology, specializing in neurodiagnostics, vestibular testing, balance disorders and hearing instrument evaluations. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Brittany received her Doctorate in Audiology from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  During her graduate studies, she gained experience in a variety of settings across the country including an otolaryngology private practice in Charlotte, NC and Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. Following graduation, Brittany has worked in otolaryngology private practices in the Chicago suburbs. She was the sole audiologist at Suburban Otolaryngology in Berwyn for two years prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2014. Brittany is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) and is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Sivan received her Master of Science degree in Audiology from Rush University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from Northern Illinois University. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2000, Sivan worked for the Audio-Vestibular Association, Hines Veterans Hospital, and the Dupage-West Cook Regional Special Education Association.  Sivan holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Illinois.

Megan received her Doctorate in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Illinois State University. During her graduate studies, she gained experience in a variety of settings including the Veterans Affairs clinic in Peoria, Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL, and at the Carle ECHO (Expanding Children's Hearing Opportunities) Program in Urbana, IL. Megan worked as a student for Hearing Professionals of Illinois, performing her full year clinical internship starting in 2014. Megan is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) and is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a licensed Audiologist in the state of Illinois.

Alisa Novoselsky

Director of Strategic Operations

Alisa received her Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following graduation, she worked as a media buyer for Campbell Mithun-Esty in Chicago, Illinois purchasing television and radio advertising for national clients.  Alisa became the Practice Manager for Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2011.  She utilizes her advertising background by planning and coordinating marketing events and community outreach programs for the practice. Alisa is also instrumental in keeping our six offices organized and running smoothly.

Andrea received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following graduation, she worked in sales for The Limited retail chain throughout the Midwest. Since starting her family, she has operated her own home-based businesses in her free time.  Andrea joined Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2013, as our cheerful Patient Care Coordinator.  You have probably heard Andrea’s sweet voice confirming appointments for the office.  She also assists with marketing events and launched our office newsletter to enhance communication with our patients.

Liz Sachs

Liz received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and then moved to Chicago to complete her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University. Following graduation, she worked as a mental health counselor for Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center in Skokie. She also holds a certification in drug and alcohol counseling.
